Recent protests by the MST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra) led to an 8-hour blockade of BR-262 in Mato Grosso do Sul, demanding land, credit, and food for encamped families, as well as concrete responses from Incra-MS regarding new settlements in 2024. While this blockade was lifted, other protests continue, particularly by indigenous groups from the Dourados Indigenous Reserve, who are blocking access to roads due to a lack of potable water. They are demanding urgent solutions from the Special Indigenous Health Secretariat (Sesai), highlighting the severe water crisis in their communities. The situation remains tense, with no end in sight for the roadblocks, causing significant disruptions for local residents and traffic.
